marilyn

While shopping around in San Francisco, I came across Russel Young Gallery.  In the very front window, there is a large painting that takes up an entire wall of Marilyn Monroe.  The painting is all tones and shades of pink, covered in diamond dust.  I immediately fell in love with the picture, and can only hope something this amazing is in my home one day.

Christian Louboutin Spring 2010 is filled with the most intriguing candy-inspired barbie-esque shoes I've ever seen. They're all so different from not only other shoes, but Mr. Louboutin's own line.  Here are some favorite picks.

and although these aren't exactly part of the same theme, I'm dying for these mesh knee-high classics.

pre-order them at saks, here.

♡♡♡

I just came across these amazing cut out sandals!  They kind of combine the idea of a gladiator and the YSL cage booties, in a flat shoe.  I'm not sure whether or not I'll buy them yet, but I'm not sure how I could pass them up...

SUPPORT ANIMAL RELIEF FROM THE HAITI DISASTER!

With a disaster of such large proportions, it's hard to focus on animals that are suffering because we focus on human survival.  ASPCA is teaming up with the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti, and accepting donations to go directly to the animal welfare.

style icon

Style icons influence me in many different ways.  Audrey Hepburn's timeless class and effortless style has shaped the way I aspire to present myself.  Marilyn Monroe's signature bombshell appearance adds to the risk I put in my fashion repertoire.  But one style icon has stuck with me in my everyday dressing experiences.

Sloane Peterson, the character played by actress Mia Sara in the classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, has honestly given me the utmost of style inspiration.  Her effortless look mixed with the bombshell flair she adds to her style makes her look a mix of every icon.  Her look is composed of the good qualities of the mid-eighties, while keeping a modern flair, something that's hard to do given some of the freak hair styles of the decade.
