J. Crew recently came out with a new "sequin scarf cardigan" that I saw just a few days before Christmas, but only admired it opposed to making a purchase because I wanted to wait until after the holidays.  Being one of the store's pricier items, the piece fell at around $138, even during post xmas sales.  However, when I went into a J. Crew to see if they had it a few days ago, there was one left, a pink champagne colored xs (my size).  I bought it immediately after trying it on, although I had originally wanted the black sequin sweater.  I went into another J. Crew the next day to see if they had one I could exchange it for, but it turns out they're sold out completely both in the store and online.  However, I've now decided that I love the "pink champagne" color I originally got, and have already worn it many times.  Although you won't be able to find the cardigan in stores, I've picked a few similar alternatives:

last week i made one of my favorite purchases of the year...

i went to Sephora and ran into an intriguingly packaged eyeshadow by Lorac. the black and gold fabric with gold glitter all over it is so beautiful, and as if that didn't already have me roped in to buy it, the colors are to die for! there are two completely different golden shades, two completely different brown shades, and one black shade with gold flecks in it. in addition to both of these points, it comes with a great double-sided brush, with a very thick side and a thinner one. it's only available at Sephora, selling for $37. click the link below to purchase it....you'll be impressed!

i just bought a pair of Toms shoes! in case you haven't heard of them, the company was started by an american traveler who saw how children around the world in countries like argentina lack the basic necessity of shoes. his company gives one pair of shoes to a child in need for each pair purchased. i got the navy blue canvas originals, but something tells me i'll be going back for another pair soon. visit them by clicking below:
